Prophet Yusuf and His Dream
A young boy dreams of eleven stars bowing to him, and learns that Allah's plan for him is greater than anyone can imagine.
"Father, look!" young Yusuf called out one morning, his eyes shining with excitement. "Last night I saw eleven stars, and the sun and the moon — they were all bowing down to me!"
His father, Prophet Yaqub, smiled and held the boy close. He knew this was no ordinary dream. It was a sign from Allah that great things were waiting for Yusuf in the future. "Do not tell this dream to your brothers, my son," he advised gently. "Allah has chosen you for something special."
The Brothers' Jealousy
Yusuf had eleven brothers, and sadly, some of them were jealous of the love their father showed him and his younger brother. Their hearts grew dark, and they made a cruel plan. One day they took Yusuf to a lonely well in the desert and threw him inside, leaving him there all alone.
But Allah was with Yusuf. He sent calmness into the boy's heart, and soon a caravan of travelers arrived at the well for water. When they pulled up their bucket, they were amazed to find a beautiful boy instead! They rescued him and took him to Egypt, where he was sold as a servant in the house of a noble man.
Trials in Egypt
Years passed. Yusuf grew into a handsome and wise young man, and Allah blessed him with the gift of understanding dreams. But life was not easy. He was wrongly accused of a crime he did not commit and thrown into prison.
Even in prison, Yusuf stayed patient and kind. He explained the dreams of his fellow prisoners with Allah's help, and one of them promised to mention him to the king — but forgot. Yusuf waited years longer, trusting that Allah had a plan.
From Prisoner to Minister
Then the king of Egypt had a strange dream that no one could explain. The forgotten prisoner remembered Yusuf. Brought before the king, Yusuf said, "Seven fat years of plenty will come, followed by seven years of hunger. Store the grain of the good years, and you will be safe in the hard ones."
The king was amazed by Yusuf's wisdom. He freed him and placed him in charge of all the storehouses of Egypt. During the years of hunger, Yusuf's own brothers came to Egypt for food — and they did not recognize the great minister before them.
The Dream Comes True
At last, Yusuf revealed who he was. His brothers wept and asked for forgiveness, and Yusuf forgave them from his heart, saying, "Allah has been kind to me." He brought his whole family to live in Egypt, and his elderly father bowed in joy before him — with the whole family prostrating in thanks to Allah.
Yusuf looked up at the sky and remembered his childhood dream: eleven stars, the sun, and the moon. "My father," he said softly, "this is the meaning of the dream I told you long ago. My Lord has made it come true."
Lesson of the Story
Patience and forgiveness bring the sweetest endings. Even when life is hard, trust in Allah's plan — He turns tears into triumph for those who stay honest and kind.
