Prophet Sulaiman and the Little Ant
The mightiest king on earth stops his whole army for one tiny ant — and smiles at the lesson Allah teaches him.
One bright morning, a great army marched across a wide valley. Horses stamped, soldiers marched in rows, and at their head rode a king unlike any other — Prophet Sulaiman, to whom Allah had given power over humans, jinn, and even the winds and the birds. His kingdom stretched far and wide, and no one could resist his might.
In the path of this mighty army lay a tiny valley of ants, going about their small lives, unaware of the thousands of feet marching toward them.
A Tiny Voice
Allah had given Sulaiman another special gift: he could understand the speech of birds and animals. As his army approached, he heard a small, frightened voice. It was an ant, crying out to her fellow ants: "O ants! Go into your homes quickly, or Sulaiman and his armies will crush you without even knowing!"
The great king pulled his horse to a stop. He listened, and he smiled — a wide, warm smile. The tiny creature feared him, yet he had never meant any harm to something so small. He ordered his whole army to halt and go around the valley of the ants.
The King's Prayer
Then Sulaiman raised his hands and prayed to Allah: "My Lord, make me thankful for the blessings You have given me and my parents, and make me do good deeds that please You. Admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants."
Think of it: the most powerful man on earth, stopping his entire army for a creature smaller than his fingernail — and thanking Allah for the lesson. His power did not make him proud; it made him humble.
Greatness in Kindness
Sulaiman's kingdom was filled with wonders — palaces, treasures, and armies no one could count. But the Quran chose to tell us this small story: a king, an ant, and a smile. Because true greatness is not in how much power you have, but in how gently you use it.
The ant went safely home, the army marched on, and a lesson was written for all time: the strong should protect the weak, not crush them.
The Queen of Sheba
One day a hoopoe bird brought Sulaiman surprising news: far away in the land of Sheba, a queen ruled a wealthy people — but they worshipped the sun instead of Allah. Sulaiman sent her a letter inviting her to the truth. The queen, who was wise as well as rich, decided to visit him herself.
When she arrived, Sulaiman showed her the wonders Allah had given him — including her own great throne, brought to his palace in the blink of an eye. Amazed and humbled, the queen declared her faith in Allah. The same king who had stopped his army for an ant had now guided a whole queen to the truth — with wisdom, not war.
Lesson of the Story
Real power is gentle. The greater Allah makes you, the kinder you should be to the smallest of His creatures — gratitude turns blessings into worship.
